The day outside was rainy and dreary dampening any good spirit with the melancholy of Mother Nature; however, one face unuse to smiles beyond cocky grins and taunting smirks found the rhythmic rain and clashes of thunder quite relaxing. If the day had been sunny, cheery, and bright, she would be excersing her trim figure with perhaps a jog or push ups. She might have even take a stroll into town just to people watch; but the rains kept her locked inside none to her displeasure. She wasn't a very sunny, cheery, bright personality anyways.
On these 'best to stay indoors' days, this lass liked to kick back and lose herself in a good book. Most wouldn't peg her as a book worm with any intelligence considering her demenour. For one, she isolated herself from people and had no problem with getting into a fight. People learned quickly to keep away. Two, her appearance wasn't exactly Harvard approved. She wore jeans littered with various holes, sneakers worn near death, and a simple blue tank top.
But, beyond this 'I don't care' attitude and dress, the girl had a nice to look at type of face and posture with white hair that noticeably stood out against her youthful physique. Today she wore it in its traditional ponytail with loose strands dangling about. Her bright blues were perhaps her most captivating feature filled with determination, challenge, and wit. At the moment, they were eagerly devouring the words on the book she greedily read.
She had found it discarded in the hall and took it up. Taking something not hers and immediately claiming ownership with the ancient rule 'finder's keepers' was no trouble to her conscious. She had become so intent upon the tale that her body had eventually slumped against the railing of the stairway and took a seat finding walking and reading difficult tasks to enact simultaneously. Her one leg was bent with an elbow propped against the knee holding the book up while the other leg was stretched straight across the step. She didn't move for any climber. Those who were naive enough to ask her to move received a vicious, icy glare that sent them scurrying away with tail between their legs.

To Ana her stay in the inn had thus far been uneventful. This in turn led her to dwelling on her problems, which was something she was unused to doing. The waiting and trying to figure out whether she should just yield to having her life controlled by her family or not wasn't a choice she was particularily keen on. This in turn led her to pretty much pacing aroung as she unconciously felt trapped by the walls of her room and the rain outside.
Training was something of an issue and after looking briefly at the surroundings of the inn and the inn itself, she pretty much knew she would have to make do with training outside. She didn't however relish the thought of trying new probably uneven ground amist what could probably develop into a thunderstorm.
Her thoughts came to be interrupted when she came across a young woman asking another one for some room in order to climb the stairs. The second woman who seemed to be rather absorbed by whatever she had been reading just looked at the first one and apparently scared her enough to send her on her way.
Ana knew the type or thought she knew it. If she got lucky the girl would either take issue with her interruption or decide she was somehow 'interesting' enough to talk to. Either way would be fine with Ana, for she was bored out of her mind. With that she moved towards the stairs.
"Excuse me. Could you please move somewhat ? You are blocking the stairs." Ana said simply as she regarded the young woman now in front of her.

The girl's temper was edging near eruption having been interrupted thrice in less than five minutes. She, Edorya, had re-read the same lines over and over because of these nuisances trying to get to the third floor. The next person who even thought to disrupt her... well, it wasn't going to be pretty.
It wasn't until after about ten minutes of silence that another soul dared to challenge the stairwell occupant. She had once more become fully absorbed in the tale with the story dancing lively in her mind's eye eagerly anticipating the next dramatic act of the play only to be snipped away by an irritatingly squeaky "Excuse me". Edorya raised her eyes and said a few low words that were more than enough to scare the youth away.
Her eyes reverted back to her book, but....
Another person attempted a journey up the well guarded stairs. She cast her icy blues up from the pages of her book and glared at the girl who dared disrupt her leisure. Of course, at this point, no one was safe to scurry away with a mere glare. But luckily, the intolerant and incoveniently placed Edorya was unwilling to leave her seat so no physical harm would be struck upon the person.
Her eyes were hard as diamonds and unwavering as a few moments, perhaps minutes, passed by. She slapped the book shut causing an echo that vibrated to nothing before she set the book to the side and stretch her bent leg over the one already occupying the length of a step. Her arms folded neatly behind her head as she continued her piercing glare at the girl who was perhaps just in want of a nap in her quarters... or some other innocent act that gave no cause to the harsh treatment to be sent her way.
"Excellent observation. I daresay, you must visit your optomitrist regularly. Good girl. And now that I've moved, will you please shoo?" Of course, she very well knew what the lass had meant by 'move'; however, Edorya took it in the sense of only rearranging her body position expressing her desire not to move.

Ana had to admit that as far as looks went, the young woman in front of her was fairly intimidating. Part of the effect was lost on her as she was not unfamiliar with violence and it was not something Ana did not expect from this situation. Given what she imagined the girl was positively enlightened.
The ball of course was now in Ana's court. How to proceed without making the situation come to premature end. Well mind games had never been something Ana had excelled at and patience or rather lack of it was probably one of the main causes.
Deep emerald green eyes met icy blue ones without flinching as a small though not necesarily too friendly smile formed on her lips.
"Why thank you for moving Miss...." Started Ana in fairly sweet voice, or as sweet as someone as temperamental as her could manage. "....I should warn you though that someone could step on you on their way down or up though." Continued Ana as she leant on the stairs' railing while keeping in mind Edorya's position and possible reach with either hands or feet.
She really hoped that the young woman was more than met the eye but couldn't be certain; for now it would not getting into a fight, at least right away, would have to suffice as prospects for continued entretainment.
OOC (Out of Character): Nice to meet you. If there is anything I can do to help you or to improove the thread in some way, please let me know.

A willowy figure of a woman appeared around a corner from an unknown starting point, dressed in a stark black buisness suit that appeared tailored for her, but originally intended for a man. There wasn't a wrinkle or a crease to be seen on the black flawless linen, it sort of appeared like she didn't move much in the outfit and when she did, it was only to take it off and hang it up. And if her buisness attire wasn't understated enough, the sight of her pale almost greyish skin that muted out her long white hair, would deffinately take the cake. Her expression was blank, and her eye's (which actually happened to stand out with there sky blue color) were trained on a small novel in her long fingers, an unlight cigarre bobbing between the middle and ring finger of that hand. It wouldn't of looked all to out of place if it wasn't for the black ball of fur that appeared glued to her head... a hat maybe? Whatever it was the lady appeared oblivious of anything includeing the odd ornament upon her white head as she walked straight towards the two.

A few moments after talking to the woman in the stairway, the short blonde realized they were not alone. Though the new woman seemed like pretty much an avatar of she would have identified as "the corporate personna", the slavic girl couldn't shake off the feeling that this was someone she had seen before, and someone important at that.
Her exchange with the other woman momentarily forgotten, Ana tried to recall where she had seen the newcomer. She knew it related to the inn, but couldn't place the face, the suit or the strange hairball for that matter.
At the end, Ana opted for nodding in towards Ryoku acknowledging her presence and waited for her to say anything while still keeping an eye on Edorya.

Edorya kept her position only moving her one arm to scratch an itch behind her ear before returning it to its previous position. She was certain the girl would make a jaunt for it as she stood idly by; however, when the green eyes of the little dear met hers only to recline against the railing, Edorya knew she had either a stupid pest or someone desperate for attention. Either way, she was intrigued yet extremely annoyed.
It was notable that a quick stretch of her arm and grab of the nearby leg would send the girl flying down the stairs; however, Edorya wasn't all that cruel.... or maybe she was just curious to see just how brave, or bored, this girl was.
"You are most welcome." She returned the small friendly curve of the lips with a slanted smirk of her own; though hers held no warmth.
Seeing the green eyed pest nod at the oncoming person, Edorya's smirk grew just a little more. Unlike the girl, she knew full well who this neatly clad, distracted person was. "My, my, here comes the inn's owner. I wonder if she'll trip up." Edorya, as stated, had no intention of vacating her spot on the step. If the business woman was too distracted to notice a pair of legs blocking her route that was of no concern to Edorya. She could have perhaps felt sympathy or understanding for the woman enacting the same steps she had taken while indulged in a tale; however, sympathy was a foreign notion to her.

Ryoku glanced up when color flashed into her periferals, she hadn't noticed the other girls nod, so made no response, not out of ignorance but simply out of not noticeing due to being too immerged in her own book, there physical prescence wasn't really noticed to Ryoku like most would notice another, she more of felt them than anything, so in her mind she need not of paid attention till she was almost right upon them, she pulls her self away from the small book, which held straight lines of rigid japanese characters on its pages, and closed it before placeing it under her arm, on the off chance catching a snarky sounding remark from one as she approached. She observes the two as she pushes her cigare up behin her right ear, first the young blond one standing at the foot of the stairs, then over to the other who happened to have the same color of hair as her, and eye's, but from first glance she could tell instantly by the poise of the fleshy barricade, that was as far as there similarities would go. Of course the observation only lasted a second, carrying her greeting out smoothly, her blank almost bored look falling directly on the stairs which she had intended to go up in hopes to escape all the hustle and bustle of the new arrivals. "Ohayo Gozaimasu." she said in a tone that matched her demeanor, monotone, and spoken with a deep feminine voice, she felt the use of her native language may be lost on the two so she reiterated the greeting in a more common language. "Good morning... seems I have yet to have met you two." she said glanceing out a nearby window at the rain, yes it very well could be afternoon, but it felt like morning to her, she personally hadn't slept for 3 days, even though you couldn't tell, although it did leave her a little impatient at this time.

To Ana it was something of a surprise that the young woman had apparently misread her intentions. But it was alright, violence though entertaining, wasn't something she was quite in the mood for yet. There was also the possibility that the obnoxious woman was well aware of her intent and was dismissing it. Ana wondered briefly if the comfortable looking woman would be able to move in time if she stomped on one of her kneecaps but that was uncalled for right now.
This was something of a new situation for Ana who usually took pride on being self reliant. The two other women had apparently chosen to arm themselves with books to stave off boredom and Ana simply needed companionship more than they did unless she chose to go back to her room, which actually did not require that she go to the third floor. Ana, however, would be thrice dammed if she let the while haired woman on the floor think that she had somehow scared her off. Still there was a very small chance that the girl on the stairs was more than met the eye and Ana didn't like to miss things.
The newcomer, also a white-haired woman, was singularly hard to read for Ana. Even her body language was somewhat confusing for her, as she couldn't quite tell the if she was simply slow or tired as the subtle cues in the way she moved seemed to imply.
When the woman laying on the stairs revealed the inn owner's identity, she felt somewhat uneasy. She really didn't believe trouble involving the inn's owner was conductive to a long stay and she still hadn't figured out what to do or exactly how long she was going to stay, but went beyond the next three days for sure.
"Good morning Miss....." Said Ana to the woman, still trying to read her. ".....My name is Ana Caterina Leshchev. It is nice to make your acquaintance." Finished Ana hoping she remembered details about Japanese etiquette well, such as giving one's name as soon as possible. Ana was convinced that she would have to talk to the inn's owner again before leaving and wanted her to willing to answer her questions.

The similiarities between her and the approaching women didn't evade Edorya's attention; however, having seen the woman in the halls before, they received no second glance or intrigued ponderance. Beyond their physical genetics, they were indeed two very different personnas.
She didn't even raise her eyes to look up at the woman perfering to stare at the white walls. She was still irate; however, her initial zeal of moodiness faded as lazy botheredness took over. She didn't wish to budge, but she wished to be let alone.
Sighing heavily, Edorya responded with a slight grate in her tone. "Aye. Good morning indeed until my storytime was disturbed." She let out a huff of air and repositioned her body so that she was further slumped on the step in which her knees were bent up while her upper body was slouched into an almost entirely lying position. She took the book up once more in both hands and began to read from where she left off.
True, Japanese formalities and such were not unfamiliar to her; however, she was not in a mood to be polite. Not that she ever was to begin with. And the fact that the woman was the inn's owner gave her no cause for cordiality.

Ryoku looked at the blond girl directly the minute she spoke, with her bright azure eyes she watched her cooly, and offered a nod of her head, the small puff of fur still stationary upon her crown, the girl seemed sweet enough, as well as polite, maybe a little lost, but that wasn't much to worry about, she did note to her dismay that the girl was clearly tense, (something she made many a people due to her position) she brushed it off as she spoke again. "Anna.." she said it slow and smoothly but not in an uneducated way, some may see it as affectionately spoken if they had looked past the bored droll to her voice, she offers a nod to the new girl. "Well, my name is Ryoku Hakkyou. It's nice to see a new face around.." she takes on her usual slouch, which seemed to make her lean backwards a bit than forewards, and placed her hand in her pocket, takeing a side glance at the girl on the stairs. "Faces.." she corrects. She turns her head with a curious tilt towards the white haired one who had not to convienently chose not to give her name after she had her turn to speak. "Well... if you don't wish to have your story time interrupted, perhaps you should choose somewhere other than a public passageway to park yourself, I do have places in this Inn for things more suited to the bookworms." she said, giveing a shrug halfway through her advice.

"Domo Hakkyou-san." Answered Ana in japanese bowing slightly and hoping she had responded correctly, her slavic accent more pronounced in the less familiar tongue.
In Ana's opinion the inn's owner seemed a nice enough person, and this she liked. It seemed like the only thing that could end up going her way in the last few weeks since getting out of the academy. This in turn lead her to hoping she could get a few questions answered about the inn. What could have led sifu Gao to tell her to wait here specifically ? Specially when she had had to travel such a long distance to do so.
Ana did not want to bother or bore the inn's owner with details about herself, but did wonder how to ask the right questions when the time came.
Turning slightly in order to have both Ryoku and the woman lying on the steps in her field of vision, the short girl analyzed the situation again. Ana had to admit to herself that the woman's position and attitude seemed unintelligent unless she was trying to gather attention to herself or pick a fight. Her own position in the matter seemed worse, as she simply didn't need to go upstairs.
She opted for observing the situation for now. She was unwilling to back down but wouldn't act too soon either. If worse came to worse she could simply walk upstairs whether Edorya wanted her or not. If things got violent, then the both of them would live with the consequences.

Edorya continued to ignore the two people crowded near her. Not only did she have a dislike for people in general, she had a dislike for people too close to her personal space.... unless she was kicking their butt. But, lucky for the two intruders, she was in no mood for physical violence; the rainy weather had brung out her laziness.
With an irritated snort, Edorya kept her eyes trained on the book; however, the words didn't register and she reread the same line once again. "This is where I sat." The statement was matter-of-fact and a more than suitable reason as to why she 'chose' the spot and still remained, at least it was to her. "And I was rather content, but it seems you two won't just leave."
As she inched her body into a standing position, some random person had begun their descent down the steps. Mid-way through the process of straightening her form, the person halted mid-step as Edorya shot them a mean glare; however, by this point, she was conceded to not pounce on any person who happened by. She motioned the individual to pass, and he did so with haste.
Stretching her body to its full extent with a yawn and arms raised before shoving her hands into her pockets and leaning against the railing with book tucked underarm, Edorya eyed the two very different people before her. She was much taller than the blonde child, more exaggerated by being a step up from her, while she was a bit shorter than the other woman; however, they were eye level due to their placements on the steps.
"Peace." With that Edorya walked down the steps squeezing her way pass the two with one hand raised as a symbol of goodbye as she walked off. She would just find some other spot to lounge and read... maybe the lobby? Or whatever place she wandered to first.

Ryoku had watched the harlequin haired girl on the stairs intently, her clear unconcern for others as well as opinions made her head stir with questions, she herself could understand the irritation upon being interrupted in the middle of something, but the stubborn and cocky girl appeared to believe she wasn’t in the wrong no matter where or what she was doing. Thankfully the girl had moved without much of a fight, and upon first impression her first assumption would be that Ryoku may have had to deal with the situation differently, despite her great aversion to touch the problem would have been solved easily with a simple grab of the scruff of the shirt and toss, although this being true it by no means meant the other girl was a lightweight, for they were fairly close in height (the other appeared to be around 5’7”, Ryoku was 5’11” and borderline 6 feet tall) not to mention the girl had the build of a fighter, but Ryoku had an odd quirk of willing strength from within that sometimes surprised her, it had been long in discovery why this was, but by fluke she was learning to slightly control it for her own purposes. Ryoku shifts her feet, hands still in her pocket to allow the stair blocker to leave, she watches the girls back for a second, expressionless for the most considering the circumstances, she simply looks away decideing she would find her later and possibly pull a name from the girl, for now there was the other far shorter blond one who was more deserving of Ryoku’s attention at the moment.

With the stairs problem solved. Ana turns to face Ryoku fully. It seemed like a good opportunity to ask about the inn and it's surroundings. Besides, she simply didn't know when she would get a chance to do so again.
"Are fighters guests here often ?" Asked Ana eying the figure of the retreating woman, while noting the characteristic well balanced of a dancer or more likely a fighter.
"I have a couple of questions to ask you, but would not want to interrupt you while you are working. When would it be opportune to talk to you in this regard ?" Continued Ana looking up at the much taller woman.
As she waited for the inn's owner to answer, Ana tried to further analyze the Ryoku but all the conclusion she kept reaching were ambiguous at best. Her hands, much like Ana's own were hardly untouched by activity but that could mean that Ryoku preferred to take a hand on approach regarding the inn's maintenance. Her posture spoke of grace, equilibrium and strength, but her slouch clashed with this. She seemed bored at the moment but could also tell that there wasn't anything here that seemed to be causing it.
Ana did realize that she might be giving something away with her question but didn't dwell on it too much. She didn't think the inn's owner would make anything of her question. Besides, few people guessed that Ana was a fighter herself. She simply didn't look like one, or so she though.
