Saku arrived at the restaurant, with Ayaka beside him, walking in a comfortable silence. This had turned out to be a slightly unusual day, first the wander bug had bitten him, causing him to climb up to the roof and now he was taking a girl he barely knew to tea! He couldn't help but chuckle softly at the thought. Well, stranger things have happened to me.... Besides, I think Ayaka is pretty interesting. He looked over at the younger girl and smiled pleasantly as they entered the restaurant. He glanced about the room and guided them toward a table near a large window that afforded them a view of the sun setting over the mountains in the distance. Before sitting down, he pulled back a chair for Ayaka.

She threw a quick look over to the man when he emitted a soft chuckle, seemingly out of nowhere. But who was she to judge? She knew that she had given out the odd laugh every now and then, sometimes. Observing the place her male companion had chosen, she noticed the window and what it showed beyond that. Smiling, she murmered a soft 'thank you' after having her chair pulled out for her, adding on a 'what a perfect gentleman' on the end.
It was manners after all. But she wondered if she was taking this far too obnoxiously, never actually doing anything for the man in return. She opened her mouth to say something, but thens stopped. Contemplating the situation, she decided it was better if it was said later on in the day. Instead, she simply gazed out the window, falling dangerously close to daydreaming mode.
Which was not the perfect example of good manners.

Once Ayaka was seated, Saku moved to the other side of the table and sat as well, taking a moment to signal to the waiter. Once comfortably seated, Saku smiled across at Ayaka, who seemed to be beginning to wander off into her own little world again. He cracked a small smile, he couldn't resist. "So," He said in a pleasant tone of voice. "What's the color of the sky there?" Clearly he was referring to her own little world, an amused chuckle escaped his lips though it was by no means meant as an insult. There were times when he wandered off into his own mental realm.

"A lovely shade of orange and red, mixed with purple and yellow," she said pleasantly; a mix of different skys. Turning her head back to face the man again. It would be rude to ignore her companion, after all. Tilting her head to the left, as usual, she tapped a finger on the table just out of habit, "You're quite the gymnast, aren't you?" she didn't remember if she had already asked or mentioned that, but there was no harm in mentioning it again, right? Besides, if she did, then she had forgotten the others answer, so it wasn't completely a waste of breath and time.

"Gymnast? Me? Nah, not really." He said with a small smile on his face, it had been true. When he was training as a child he was always falling behind with anything acrobatic in nature. "I'm just a fan, so to speak. There are people out there much better than I." I only seem so skilled because I use the skill I have in more dangerous ways. A regular gymnast wouldn't even dream of climbing the side of a building like I did without climbing gear or a net! He thought to himself. "It's sort of a hobby....sort of." He admitted as the waiter came to them. "May I take your order? He asked in a pleasant tone of voice. Saku nodded toward Ayaka. "Ladies first."

"Too modest..." she whispered under her breath, though loud enough for it to be intentionally heard. She tilted her head and grinned at the other, "Nowadays, it's an equal country..." she laughed, placing her elbows on the table gently, even if it was bad manners. Or it could only count for if they were actually eating/drinking. Resting her chin on the palms of bother her hands, she glanced at the waiter before chuckling once more, "You can order first if you want?" she shrugged the best she could while retaining her posture. After all, it was only green tea she wanted; english tea was a little too strong, or perhaps she just had an aquired taste for traditional things.

"A cup of tea please, English style with two teaspoons of honey and a wedge of lime please." Saku said in a pleasant tone of voice and looked to Ayaka, as did the waiter. After a moment Saku snapped his fingers. "Oh, and some scones please. Sorry, Ayaka, I didn't mean to interrupt." He said apologetically and smiled a little.
(OOC: I know, it's short and I'm sorry. I'm in the process of moving so it's been a little hectic. Plus it's tea, not much to do when ordering it, right?)

"No, it's fine." she had not even opened her mouth before Saku added his extra order, so it wasn't really rude. Besides, she still couldn't decided if Jasmine tea was the same as green tea...or vice versa, but that didn't make too much of a difference. Before her gaze was once more, captivated by the coloured sky, she pulled her eyes away from the window long enough to give her order. "I'd like tea as well, though the green kind."
She didn't know if that would confuse the waiter or not, and so never actually made to correct herself.
OOC: Agreed...but eh, I've been living in the same house for so long T T

Having taking their orders and assuming that Ayaka meant Japanese green tea, the waiter left with a bow. Saku chuckled softly. "I can almost remember a time when I was like that, polite to a fault." As most Japanese seemed to be, though there were some exceptions, Ayaka for example. He set his elbows on the table and laced his fingers in front of his face with a smile. "So, what brings you to this inn? If I may ask of course." He finished and tilted his head slightly to wait for her answer.

She quirked an eyebrow at the man's words plus antics. A light laugh filled the small pocket of silence that had entered after the pause, "Polite to fault? No, just to others," a small grin lingered on her face. If the man had known her way before, he would have quickly found that she was no more polite than the average Japanese girl. Around the area she used to live in, that is, where manners was the code they lived by. Her family at most.
Contemplating the other's question, she rested her hands on her lap, in a relaxed sort of way. "Hmm..." she hummed softly, still thinking about an answer. In truth, it wouldn't have been so difficult to tell him. And Saku -did- give her a choice as to whether or not she wanted to answer. However, where was the fun in being straight-forward now?
"I'd say I was running away from the Mafia," she said pleasantly, batting not even a single eyelash at the abnormal reply. Abnormal to a -normal- girl.

Saku blinked and rose his eyebrows, he blinked a few more times and then chuckled. "Well, I did ask......: He said ruefully then looked back to her. "The Mafia huh? And what exactly did you do? Cheat them out of money? Not pay for protection?" He asked. I wonder if she told the truth....well probably not, we hardly know each other so it's no big surprise really. Of course, if she IS telling the truth....well, stranger things have happened her before.... He thought as the waiter returned with their order. Quietly the man set down Ayaka's tea, then Saku's tea and scones and a small plate with butter and a knife on it. Then bowed and left after telling them to call if they needed anything.
Saku picked up a scone and spread on some butter then waited for it to melt before biting into it. He scooted the scone plate closer to Ayaka while waiting for an answer.

"Possibly insulting them?" she offered. Not a valid reason, but hey, it wasn't a serious answer either way. Even if it was a serious question. She was a little surprised at the speed of the service at the restaraunt, the way the waiter had come so quickly with their order. Well trained, perhaps? That or it was because they had little customers at this time. "Or any of the reasons you suggested," grinning, she took her tea closer, wrapping her hands around the warmth of the cup. Knowing that burning her tongue was not something she liked, or wanted, Ayaka waited for it to cool without blowing on the surface and spraying the contents all over Saku, and possibly, his food.
Tea flavoured scones, anyone?

OOC: No, no, just saying that she's not blowing on it, in case she spat on him. Instead, she's just waiting for it to cool down without doing anything.

(OOC: Gotcha)
IC:
Saku raised an eyebrow at the odd answer and took a bite of his scone. After swallowing he chuckled. "So, I take it then, that you haven't been exactly straight with me, have you?" He raised a hand to forestall anything she might say. "I understand of course, we're strangers so you don't have to tell me the truth from the get go. Perhaps I should have told you why I'm here first before asking, so I apologize." He picked up his cup and took a sip.
