((OOC: ooh who who mind reader ^.~ Your good))
It was not instantanious, but slowly Ryoku noticed the girl relax, all pain in her expression leaving her, to look more like a slightly bruised sleeping beauty, than a victim of a brutal beating. Ryoku felt the pain slipping into her, her one right eye began to throb, and her mucles and skin began to burn, but all the while she concentrated on a thought, she imagined the girl's wounds slowly meshing together, her strength held strong as she did this, the hand she kept hovering over the girls forehead gave off an inner glow.. as if someone had pushed a flashlight against her skin, showing the outline of her bones, and giveing an eery red glow from within.

(OOC: Nah, I just read... alot. Mostly Fantasy and SciFi. So, it was kinda obvious where you were headed. (at least it was to me...) Thanks for the compliment, though! As Ryoku worked on her, the injured girl's sleep becomes more and more restful. Slowly, her wounds began to mend. The many minor cuts and bruises first close up and then fade away. The slash on her leg becomes shallow and less ragged; the bleeding stops completely. The bruise on her chin disapears all the way. Her black eye shrinks until it only surrounds the immediate area around her eye. If she were awake, the girl would find that she could open it again with fair ease. It's still puffy, but the color has turned into the faded green and yellow discoloration of a mostly healed bruise. The gash on her head closes completely, but there is still a livid line where it was. The ache in her ribs disapears and even her breathing becomes easier and deeper. Only her dislocated arm seems to be having problems. The pain from it diminishes, but it doesn't heal. Something is preventing it from healing all the way.

Ryoku pulled back, takeing her hand back, the pain she had felt, was now subsideing as the girl's skin healed as if a invisible needle and thread mended it all, the bruises fadeing slowly along with the cuts, although the tension and pain in her arm did not cease, and even lingered after she severed the contact with the girl, she knew from this it wasn't healing, surmiseing that something must be preventing it, but she had taxed her strength so much, she decided it would be best to leave it be till morning. Thankfully the girl was not awake to witness what she had done, and was happy that was so.. she was just as unaware of her ability as the girl was, and only partially understood it, she rather strived to keep her life a mystery to others, and if she didn't spend so much time alone, any one would still assume she was nothing more than a normal woman, save for her snow white hair that is. Ryoku had floated deep into thought, her gaze haveing instinctivley gravitated to the full moon, the luminous ring like silvery glow around it highlighted the curves of a few fuffy streaks of clouds, floating past it, she stared listlessly at the dark grey craters, and woundered. Ryoku quickly snapped out of it and looked back on the girl who was still wrapped in a towel, she leaned over and grabbed the large white dress shirt she had laid out earlier, only suspecting the peice of fabric, which was usually a medium on her, would most likely be more of a dress on the smaller girl.. sufficient in covering enough for decencies sake. Ryoku gathered the girl up, and leaned the girl foreward and onto her shoulder as she took to the task of removeing the towel and getting her into the shirt, and under the covers.

Head lolling on the pale woman's shoulder, the mystery girl doesn't even twitch as Ryoku dresses her and places her under the covers. She's deeply asleep, her body having been pushed way past it's limits. She'll probably stay in this state until noon or even all the way to dinner time. Her silver hair, freshly cleaned, spreads out on the pillow behind her. It shimmers in the weak moonlight streaming through the window. Her face is turned upwards; all signs of pain have completely disappeared from her expression. Her lips are parted slightly, air whistling softly from them. Her chest rises and falls as she breathes. She's at her most peaceful moment since arriving at the Inn.

Ryoku adjusted the covers and watched the girls expression deeply, she seemed so peacfull, it made her feel a small twinge of happiness to see she had helped, but it quickly faded into nothingness, and only the shock of the girls pritty features remained. Ryoku stood up, and walked over to her large couch in the area she had laid out like a living room.. although it was hard to destin a place in her loft like room, it was quite large and the wrap around half moon shape of the end of the Inn gave her room an interesting look, and incidentally the only thing that had devideing walls was the bathroom. Ryoku sat back on the couch and closed her eyes, she knew she wouldn't sleep much.. or well seeing as she never did... but she would try.

And so Time Passes ******* The clouds have broken up and weak sunlight shines through the windows. Droplets of water collect on the glass and take in and reflect the pale rays. It's early afternoon, an hour or so after lunch time. Stirring on the bed, the unknown girl's breathing increases. A small frown tilts her lips downward and she gives a soft sigh. Slowly, she cracks both eyes open. Blinking in at the brightness of the room, she stares blankly at the ceiling for a few minutes. Then her mind kicks into gear and she thinks. Where....? Finding nothing in the white ceiling, she forces her aching body to sit up. Wincing in pain as right her arm and shoulder twinges in protest, she sits hunched over on the bed for a moment. Dizziness grips her, but it fades quickly. Where...? Then it strikes her. Where didn't really matter, it was who. Who... am I? Raising her head slowly, she sweeps her gaze desperately across the room, trying to find something, anything familiar. Then her eyes lock onto the slumbering pale woman on the couch across from her. Recognition stirs in the back of her mind, giving her hope. Maybe she can tell me.... She doesn't know who the lady is, but she has the vague feeling that she's seen her somewhere.

Ryoku did not move at all, in fact it appeared she was dead asleep, she was still sitting upright, her arms crossed and her chin against her chest. Nao although appeared from the bathroom, obviously finally awake, he made his was towards the bed and dissapeared as he made his way around to the front of the bed, then appeared again as he leapt up and landed on the covers, the black cat simply looked up at her with his beady gaze, his odd grin still plastered on his face, as he made a curious mur mur.

Blinking, the newly awakened girl hadn't noticed the movement coming from the bathroom. She'd been studying the other woman, debating on whether she should go wake her up or not (and if she even could, seeing as to how weak she felt). So, when a black cat suddenly hops onto the bed, she's startled. Shifting her gaze to the cat, she cocks her head the the side. A black... cat... What? The grin made the cat look a bit silly. When she catches the low mur mur, a slight smile flickers briefly across her lips and warms her sad eyes. Staring down at the small creature, she slowly reaches her left hand out to him. Her hand is palm up and her fingers are slightly curled. Hesitating, she keeps her fingers close to the cats face, allowing the animal to sniff them if he was so inclined.
So focused on the little creature is she, that she isn't paying attention to anything else. At the moment, all she wants to do is to pet the cat, to see if his fur is as soft as it looks. Also, she wants to hear a purr. For some reason, she feels that the sound of a cat purring is one of the best ones she's ever heard. Frowning, she wonders where that feeling had come from. Who am I? This time, her thoughts are filled with despair. She focuses on the cat, twitching her fingers and trying to coax it nearer her.

Nao watched her twitching fingers silently, his same weird grin plastered on his face, as she coaxed more, he leaned foreward, slowly his wide toothy maw began to open, and he began moveing closer to her fingers mouth agape.
Suddenly a hand came down on Nao's head, fingers clamping his jaw shut, and he was hosted up by the scruff of his neck, Ryoku was attached to the end of that hand, she wasn't at all disheveled, and merely appeared fazed with sleep, she brought Nao towards her face as she glared at him eye to eye. "Baka neko." She grunted, as the cat shut it's mouth, and resumed it's odd grin. Ryoku set the cat down on the floor, who then passed out cold again. Ryoku, glanced at the girl, who was now awake, it was supriseing, she looked so diffrent from when she was unconcious... it didn't suprise Ryoku, the fact the girl was almost unrecognisable when moveing, with her eye's open. Ryoku, sat softly on the bed and nodded at her. "I see your awake... how was your sleep?"

Observing the cat's toothy grin spliting into a hinged trap, the girl stops her finger twiddling. Freezing in place, she watches the cats antics with interest. Will he bite me?, she wonders. Keeping her fingers close to the cat, she waits to see what he'll do next. Before anything else could happen, a hand reaches down and picks him up. Jumping at the sudden intrusion, the girl looks up to find herself staring right at the pale woman. Wasn't she sleeping?, she thinks in confusion.
Staring at the woman, it takes her a few seconds to process what she'd said. Blinking, she opens her mouth to answer, but no sound comes out. Snapping it closed again, her distress is apparent. I can't speak! I don't know who I am and I can't speak! But... I should be able to... shouldn't I? Clasping her hands tightly together in her blanket covered lap, she grips them so hard that her knuckles turn white. She gazes down at them, too ashamed and frightened even look at the other woman. Her body tenses up and her injured right shoulder twinges in protest. She doesn't try to talk again, knowing deep down that it was futile. What happened to me? Why can't I remember anything? Who am I? These questions and more circle around her head, like a dog chasing it's tail.
(OOC: Azumaga Daioh.... Good series! ^_^)

Ryoku, had been awake all night, and when the girl awoke she had mearly been resting her eye's, so when the girl awoke, she new immediatly, and took the girls preoccupation with Nao to approach. The girl hadn't seemed to be able to answer, makeing Ryoku reluctantly put a hand on the girl's smaller fist's, hopeing to comfort her. "Don't strain yourself.." she said in her lowest tone possible. Ryoku could only figure the reason the girl looked so flustered was she was scared and didn't know what was happening, so takeing a strike in the dark Ryoku simply began to try and relay what happened. "It's okay... you'r safe here, you showed up on my Inn's door step.... all torn up, I took you here to my room, and cared for your wounds.. I truly hope you don't mind.. but I couldn't just leave you outdside like that.. and my nurse is away for holidays..." Ryoku said simply motioning to the pile of rags that were once her clothes on the floor.
((OOC: Of course.. I adore that series.. that and Love Hina inspired my site.. btw.. sorry about the delay.. again! >.<))

Blinking in surprise, the girl stares at the hand covering her own. Long fingers... she observes. Piano hands. Where the thought had come from, she doesn't know, only that it seems to make sense. Looking up as the woman begins to speak to her, she stares at her in confusion. Wounds? Glancing at the bloody, fithly, rags, that were her cloths, she then proceeds to check herself for injuries. Since all she's wearing is the white men's shirt, it's relatively easy. First, she checks her arms. Her right arm still hurts and she has a hard time moving it. Shifting her legs under her, she feels a twinge coming from her left one. Pulling the covers back, and showing no regard for herself, she pulls the shirt up all the way to her left hip, revealing the long, but shallow wound. Frowning in thought, she stares at the slash. It should be bigger... and I should hurt a lot more. Slowly, memories of the night before begin to seep back into her consciousness.
She remembers.... pain, lots of pain. In fact, her whole world is nothing but pain. She's walking, running, away from someone... Her frown deepening and brow furrowing, she raises her left hand to her forehead and encounters the half healed crescent shaped wound there. Wincing, she draws her hand away from it. Her body is one big ache. She remembers blood, her blood and others blood, all over her. Only one eye seems to be working. At the memory, she again raises her hand to her face and this times gingerly touches the slightly puffy area around her right eye. Time passes, how long she's not sure. Then it looks like rain, but she can't tell. All she knows is that she's hurt and alone, so alone. Shivering, she lowers her left hand back into her lap, resting it over the woman's hand, making a sandwich of hands. Now it's dark out and it's cold, or maybe she just is? She doesn't know. Light, in the distance. Light is warmth, is heat. A door? Then more pain and suddenly, she's not alone anymore. Looks up into electric blue orbs. Pale skin, snowy hair, tired eyes. Blinking in realization, the silver haired girl turns her startled gaze to the pale woman's ice blue eyes. Its her... The rest of the night is a little fuzzy, but she remembers that the lady had not given up on her, had helped her. Just as suddenly as the night before, she smiles at her companion. It's a warm, open expression, softening her sad slate eyes and brightening her small, round face.
(OOC: No need to apologize, life does go on. Glad you're back! )

Ryoku watched the girl carefully who still had not made a sound, and was now as it seemed realizeing things, she watched curiously as the girl felt over herself, but when the girl unabashadly pulled her covers off, Ryoku felt a searing heat raise to her collar, makeing her loosen the top button of her very wrinkled and blood stained white shirt she also still wore, (the only diffrence was it fit her, unlike the smaller girl engulfed by the shirt she wore) Ryoku had plenty of time to examine the girls wounds.. which were all still barely visable, but it non the less satisfied her to see it was a large improvement from the night before. Ryoku glanced at the melded hands upon the girls lap, a mix of flesh.. the contact was so close, not something Ryoku was accustomed to, she fought the urge to pull away, knowing the sake of keeping still was to assure the girl nothing was wrong. "You remember.. don't you.." Ryoku partially whispered, looking into the girls now smileing eye's.. ~Such a beautiful color...~ she thought.

Smile fading at the question, the girl frowns. Her eyes darken and take on an uneasy sheen. She shakes her head, but then pauses and nods it. Glancing away in frustration, she lets out a soft huff of air. Turning her gaze back to the lady, she gives a questioning look. Raising her left hand from the mesh of hands, she lifts it up to the pale woman's face. Lightly brushing her fingers against the other's cheek, she stares directly into those intriguing blues. Who are you?, she wants to ask, but her voice won't come. Bringing her hand back to herself, she rests it over her breast bone. Cocking her head to the side, she throws the lady another questioning look. Who am I? Again, she finds herself unable to speak. The frustration is unbearable and her eyes flash in irritation at herself. Dropping her gaze to her lap, she stares at the mix of hands. They're so big... and gentle. The memory of those hands deftly tending her wounds brings a sad, tiny smile to her lips.

She could see the girl struggleing with it all, Ryoku assumed the shock of everything was mostly to blame.. but the girl truly looked lost. Ryoku didn't flinch away (although her mind did) when the gril's warm fingers brushed her cheek, she simply held the girls gaze, her own brows furrowing as she cocentrated deeply, not breaking her deep stare into the others eye's, (unaware to Ryoku's concious, thoughts began to fill her head.. one leapt out to her, and without a thought she answered the clear "Who are you?" as if the girl vrbally asked) "My name is Ryoku Hakkyou.... this is my Inn.." Ryoku was suddenly as soon as the words left her lips, curious why she said that.. she couldn't remember the girl.. speaking..?
