Name: Ana Caterina Leshchev
( Anya or sometimes Katya to friends.)
Age: 14
Height: 4' 11"
Genger: Female
Weight: Almost 40 kilograms ( 88 pounds )
Sexuality: Bisexual (But leans towards lesbianism.)
Appearance: Short and something of a late bloomer, with short blond hair and green eyes. Ana is very expressive, thus people find it easy to tell what she's really feeling. Be it anger, happiness, hopefulness or anything in between unless she making a particular effort to hide her feelings. ( For example if she has to talk to someone she doesn't like, that someone will know for sure that she's either angry or annoyed but won't be able to tell at what if Ana is trying to hide her feelings.)
Ana eschews jewelery and make up beyond earings and sometimes wears wide concealing clothes to cover her figure which she is somewhat ashamed of.
Personality: Ana is usually a quiet girl, who normally doesn't talk unless she has a real reason to or to answer whomever may have approached her. She is friendly and generous with those that interest her and her friends, polite and considerate with those she doesn't know. Ana holds grudges and can be downright sadistic with those that cross her or hurt people or things she cares about.
Not an overly sensitive person, this side of her personality could be summed up by her mottos. "-Self pity is a trait of the weak.", "-Don't get sad, get mad." and "-Don't get mad, get even." Thus she usually catches herself before breaking down and refocuses her emotions accordingly. (Even when breaking down and crying would be better for her as a person then actually holding a grudge or acting on it.). Ana seldom if ever gives up and tends to want to manipulate confrontations into academical or mainly physical tests as she hates to have to depend on other people's consent or effort.
Ana is very respectful of other people's effort and time, she always respects other people's property even if it something she wants or needs very badly and actually looks down on envious people and abhors liars.
History: The Leshchev family formerly Leshchevish of Saint Petersburg, where russian nobles who fell on the ruling Tsar's persona-non-grata list and where stripped of most of their possesions. The family quickly saw the writing on the wall and started marrying with rich and shrewed traders, giving said traders thr respectability of a noble name or noble in-laws while absorbing money and bussiness savvy for the family. The family also started the process of relocating from Russia to other lands around this point. When the Bolchevic revolution came the Leshchevs were pretty much unaffected by it all.
Arranged marriages for the advantage of the family became a tradition, or at least studying to become a proficient administrator. Ana herself was the product of an indiscretion between her father and a woman the family didn't approove of. Be it as it may her mother died in childbirth while her father died a few years later reputedly of controlled substances abuse.
Saddened by the untimely death of their youngest child. Ana's grandparents adopted her as their own and always doted on her and spoiled her to a degree. Ana was never too afraid to make sacrifices for things she really wanted but never really learned to give up on or let go of things.
When Ana was little, she was an avid fan of japanese shows and anime and a firm suppoter of the underdog in conflicts. From this combination and the at best quirky logic of children she concluded that japanese martial arts were the best and that chinese martial arts were the "underdog", and wanted to show everyone that "they worked too." This brought her into contact with Sifu Gao ( Master Gao ) perhaps the only true friend she had when she was a child. Though she grew out of her unusual martial arts philosophy, her love for Ba Gua Zhang (Her chosen martial art) remained.
Ana's situation had started to change slowly but surely as she grew more self-centered over time, but really detereriorated when she told her family that she was unwilling to consider marriage or even friendship with someone just on a convenience to the family basis; together with her similar (though far more unreasonable) position regarding being a bussiness administrator. She alienated her aunts and uncles (who controlled the family and had yielded to tradition for the sake of the future generations, at least in their minds). Things came to a head when coming from practice at Sifu Gao's place she ran into a group of kids tormenting a little boy and his puppy.
Already upset since Sifu Gao; disappointed with her steadily worsening attitude had refused to teach her anymore. It is hard to tell exactly how things deteriorated to the point that they did. The group of orphans that were tormenting the little boy certainly were not innocent (The boy required a cast and the puppy had to be operated on in order to save it's life), but Ana wasn't exactly innocent either as she beat up that group so throughly and savagely that most of those boys and girls required months to learn how to walk again and never quite regained total use of their limbs. This was compounded with Ana's statement when her grandfather asked about it and all she did was lament rather coldly not hurting them more.
When it came to light that the orphans lived in a badly neglected orphanage and were subject to periodic mistreatment themselves and were "blowing off steam" in the only way the twisted conditions they lived in allowed them to. The issue became even more complicated. Anxious to avoid the scandal that would surely come as advocacy groups and local government bureacrats scrambled to take whatever positions they found advantageous. Ana's family acted quickly and decisively.
Much hush money and many very bitter discussions with family later. Ana found herself shipped off to boarding school, unsure of whether she would still have a family by the time she hit age majority or even next week.
Stuck for a while in boarding school, Ana's attitude changed for the better as she started socializing normally rather than under the direction of her aunts and uncles. She also became aware of her sexuallity as she found her first love among the other girls, though she managed to control her desires and even recognize her need for companionship on her own terms rather than out of control lust as she first thought. Word of her behavior got back to her family however and they wrote to her with an ultimatum, get engaged and marry under their terms or forget she ever knew them.
Even though the short relationship she had started with her erswhile girlfriend had come to an end. She and all of her friends came to her help and after a very elaborate nad still ongoing scheme and lots of luck. Ana freed the the money that had been payed for her tuition at the school and kept it, while making her family believe that she remained at the school.
After making her way back to where her former master lived, she found him unsympathetic and cold to her plight after telling him what had happened. Oddly enough he told Ana to go Hakkyou and await for him there and that Ana and himself would decided how things where going to go on her fifteenth birthday, though not long after starting her way towards Hakkyou, she recieved a call from her former girlfriend on her cell phone. Her family expected her back before home before her fifteenth birthday for her birthday/engagement party.
Now in Hakkyou with her birthday a mere three months away, Ana wonders what to do. Should she do as her family wishes or wait for her former sifu or even try to strike out on her own with the money she has left. But she wonders even now why her sifu guided her here and why everything seems to point towards her fifteenth birthday. Though as the date and Hakkyou in grow ever closer. Ana's instincts tell her that one way or the other she'll find something beyond her expectations.
Talents: A veritable genious when it comes to applied concepts. Ana speaks Japanese, English, Russian and some Mandarin. She's also a master level practicioner of Ba Gua Zhang an expert on exhibitional Wushu and an ocasional practitioner of Tai Chi Chuan. She's also graceful and quick.
Weaknesses: Being a naturally expressive person and being used to always getting what she wants (even if she has to put time and effort into it). She can hardly disguise her feelings. Ana is a very methodical person when it comes to applying herself to anything, Whenever she's exited (whether good or bad) her chances of making mistakes rise astronomically. Her rather pronounced viciousness with those that upset her could count in some circles as well as her lackluster ability to handle non-applied concepts such as general memorization.
