The wood door to the attic gave Ryoku some grief as is stuck stubbornly to its hinges, she paid no mind as she easily shoved it open, not noticing with the force of it she had completely torn the frame with it as well, although she had assumed the loud CRACK was simply it un-melding itself from its hinges, and the dilapidated lean it took on was age. The dust from the room made her even cough, as the sudden air from the doors opening had upset it, the sun beams from a small window at the end caught each dust particle as it danced about, she shook her head as she waved the dust away from her path. “Well here we are..” she said flatly as she glanced about. The room was full of boxes and trinkets, old wood vanities, ancient samurai gear that hung from straw dummies, intricately carved wood boxes, even old kimono’s and dresses hung from portable rungs. “I’m not too sure, but I believe somewhere past the sword display by the window, that’s where family albums and diaries would be..” she said, looking away from the things and back at the girl, it wasn’t obvious, but Ryoku felt weighted, conscious of all the things, all the memories they brought, she wasn’t keen on being up here, it was far to surreal for her, and alien, even though it was the Hakkyou families past, but that’s how it always felt to her.

Ana had followed Ryoku as she made her way to the attic and had been visibly surprised at the almost unnatural display of strength. She now wondered just what kind of special abilities did Ryoku have asides from her immense strength. This in turn made her pause for a second as she wondered just who was Ryoku really. "Klëvyy...." Said the short blond slowly as she turned to watch the attic, taking it in slowly and feeling somewhat exited at the prospect of unearthing at least a little of the great many secrets that the place obviously held.
Pretty much the opposite of Ryoku, Ana seemed to relish the apparent air of old history or even mystery of the deposit, though her smile was smaller than it was back at Ryoku's room. It was fairly obvious by the expression in the russian girl's eyes that she was enjoying the sights. "Need any help ?" Asked Ana when she saw Ryouku's eyes on her. Though for a brief moment Ryoku seemed to feel uncomfortable it was apparently a fleeting impression, besides, she hadn't touched anything so she doubted Ryoku had any reasons for being upset.

Ryoku made note of the girls expression. She seemed elated to be in the midst of the junk and trinkets, although Ryoku failed to relate she didn't look down on the blond for it. Rather than stare she took to picking her way to the back where the diaries would be, makeing sure to hunch down a bit, makeing sure to avoid the roofs slanted rafters. Ryoku managed to squeeze around some poorly placed vanities and reach the area the box was supposed to be, but in the place it usually was was a blank space, and a note replaceing where it had been. "Eeh?" She said the Japanese expresion of suprise comeing out more like a grunt. She moved towards the paper and leant down to rest on the balls of her feet gazeing over the Hirigana scrawled across it. She could already tell this wasn't a good sign.

Seeing Ryoku move between the various obstacles, Ana felt disinclined to follow until a certain distance had build, thinking it more prudent to allow both Ryoku and herself room to maneuver which seemed useful the cluttered attic.
Hearing Ryoku's expression of surprise, Ana moved towards her, curiosity beating patience in her mind for the moment.
"Is something wrong Miss Ryoku ? " Asked Ana once close enough for doing so without having to raise her voice.

"Kusou...." Ryoku swore quietly under her breath, the note was less than positive. "Seems its been hidden..." she scratched her head lightly, looking down with a blink as Nao weaved his way around her legs, obviously haveing followed them there. He simply opened his big maw in a grin before leaping on her head in his usual spot, obviously senseing Ryoku was most likely going to have to leave. Ryoku glares at the hirigana some more, and looks back at Anna and stands handing her the paper. "This is one thing I do not miss about my grandfather.." she said turning away as she shakes her head, glanceing about the attic. "Riddles..."

"I see." Said Ana as she received the paper with the enigma from Ryoku. Though running into another stone in her path was something that Ana believed she was getting used to it still rankled on her that she just couldn't seem to get a straight answer as to why Sifu Gao had sent her here. Still.... There was the very real possibility that whatever the real answer was, it was valuable enough to bother hiding it in the first place.
"I thank you Miss Ryoku for going through all of this trouble in my behalf. Is there anything I could do for you in return ?" Asked Ana not quite sure there was anything she could do for the inn's owner but she asked nevertheless. Not quite liking the idea of wasting Ryoku's time with her problems and not leaving Ryoku anything to show for it. Besides she figured she had a greater chance for getting Ryoku to help her again in the future this way, as the innkeeper didn't seem to her as someone who wouldn't exactly waste her time with every unusual issue she happened upon, though if asked. Ana would always choose to have inn's owner's help over not having it, the fact that Ryoku struck her as a very interesting person to say the least, didn't hurt either.

Ryoku turned to look at Anna, tapping her chin with her long finger. She leaned back into her usual backwards slouch makeing sure to watch for the rafters. "You don't expect me to leave a damsel in distress do you?" she said with a small quirk of her full, arched brow; the only indication on her stoic appearance, that it was a light hearted comment. She moved a strand of white from her gaze and leaned in takeing the paper, and placed it in her pocket. "Besides I can guarantee you Im the only one to understand my grandfathers riddle." she said with a shrug.

Ana wasn't fond of having to depend on the kindness of others to anything, thus the readily apparent fact that she would be able to do little to follow this clue was distressing to the russian teenager.
In spite of that a small grateful smile found its way to her lips. If she had to depend on someone else it might as well be on the taller woman
"No, not really, but I am glad that you chose not to Miss Ryoku."

Ryoku nodded, a sparkle of determination in her eyes. "Well then...." she said pocketing the paper, rather ruffly, offering a hand to the girl. "I suppose I should shake the hand to my new treasure hunter?" she said the term seeming odd for the situation, but Ryoku seemed content with calling her this, as she awaited a handshake from the girl.
(I suppose we should make a new thread somewhere soon?)

Ana shook Ryoku's hand without hesitation, truth be told, she rather liked treasure hunts when they weren't too frustrating. Besides, she was looking forward to spending more time with Ryoku as she was the only person she could say had been friendly towards her in the inn as of now.
"Let us start as soon as you are ready Miss Ryoku."
(Another thread sounds fine to me, but I'm ok staying in this one if it is more comfortable for you. I would rather move though.)
