Ryoku put the gold key into the lock and twisted, but it didn't budge, she tried again harder but still nothing, obviously old age, or lack of use had frozen the ancient lock into place. "Great.." Ryoku, leaned her shoulder up against the door, in an attempt to get more leverage on the door, Neo jumped down from her other shoulder and sat down next to the door and began to watch her curiously with his gold eyes, again she tried to twist the key, she jiggled it as she did, and suddenly there was a loud click as the tumblers fell into place, turning the knob she slowly opened the door, Nao quickly slipped in and disappeared somewhere inside, the room was dark, and all the furniture had plastic wrapped around it, something the maids must of done after she left. Her luggage, was neatly piled near the couch, and the huge panoramic windows that spanned the whole length of the rooms outer wall, had huge heavy curtains blocking the light, Ryoku pressed a button beside the light switch. Suddenly beams of light began to illuminate the room, as the curtains began to open, touching on her bed, tables, and pictures on the wall, the half circle wrap around shape of her room enabled the light to hit on everything, Ryoku walked closer to the windows, she took in the view of the lush forest below, that spanned out over the eastern hills. It had been so long since she took in this view, so long since such a familiar feeling was present, the two years she spent on the road never held such warmth, and comfort as she felt here. Time was short, she still had to change in order to get back to the banquet in time to greet more guests, Kitari had already shown up surprisingly, she was sure he would be able to handle the entertaining until she got there. Ryoku opened a box and began to pull out clothing, but something caught her eye on the glass end table, pausing she leaned over slowly, noticing a picture frame laying face down, she picked it up and turning it around she looked at the picture in it, it was her in the middle of a laugh, and Shai-lee leaned up against her, a huge sake bottle bottoms up in her mouth. Ryoku laughed softly and put the picture upright, she hadn't spoken to Shai for ever, long ago losing contact as they parted ways. She swore she could still hear her manic laughing, and almost expected to find random bottles of alcohol strewn through this room, seeing Shai had taken up residence in her room towards the last days at Hakkyou. But that was long go, and she hadn't heard hide nor hair from her. Ryoku shook her head, attempting to just stop thinking about it, and decided to occupy herself with the task ahead.

Shai leaned against the door frame, arms crossed. For once her clothing was all intact and rip-free, her hair with barely a tangle. It was apparent she had learned to take care of herself. She carried a large leather purse of sorts on one arm, a folded up kimono in the other, which she planned to wear to the banquet later on. Without a word, she watched Ryoku make her way around the dusty room for a few moments, her own mind wandering back to the memories of years before. It had been a long time. A long time since she had seen Ryoku, a long time since she had lived in this room... a long time since she had been back to Hakkyou, but she never went far. Living in a cabin atop Kimyou mountain had changed her. Even her evil side was calmer... It took Shai quite some time to talk herself into coming back, but here she was, all grown up. She took a couple steps into the room, finally opening her mouth to speak. "Konnichiwa... been awhile." Shai muttered, her evil side still sounded bitter, but nevertheless more friendly.

Ryoku, jumped a little when a bitter, yet familiar sounding voice spoke from behind, she turned from the box to the door to look upon a slim, pale, dark haired girl, although this girl's clothing was neat and tidy, and she had a leather purse attached to her arm, but if it wasn't for those crazy eye's, and the fact she would never forget someone like her, no matter how much she would change, she knew that it was non other than Shai-lee herself. "Shai!" The word burst from her mouth, shocking even her, as her usually, low monotone voice, managed to sound somewhat shocked for once. "I mean, you're back." Nao appeared from the shadows, and mewed before flopping like a rag atop Shai's feet. Ryoku smiled at Nao's show of affection, then noticed she was still holding up a pair of 'unmentionables', her pale features going red she tossed the item back into the box she was digging through, and quickly sat on it. "Uh... how long have you been standing there?" She asked hopeing Shai hadn't witnessed her somewhat personal time with the picture, as well as trying to change the obviously impending subject of the clothing she held.

With a hiss, Shai lightly kicked the annoying creature off. "Baka neko..." she muttered, still feeling those claws on her face as if it were yesterday. "Eh, those are cute Ryoku-chan. I didn't know pink was your color." Shai said with a wide grin, ignoring the question. "Anyway I heard from some ugly little birdie that you would be back today... thought I'd uh..." she grunted, scratching at the back of her head, "Well I missed you, ya know? I hope you're not still mad at me..."

Ryoku shot a glare at Shai, as usual Nao just rolled off and under the bed to resume sleeping like a rock, she ignored the pink comment, and began to figet with her zippo inside her pocket. Ryoku looked away feeling the old feelings of anger towards Shai, she herself knew exactly why she was angry to begin with, but was positive Shai had no idea, considering Ryoku had a tendency to not talk about her feelings let alone what causes them. Ryoku breathed, letting some sense sink into her head as she realized holding onto anger would just destroy the possible relationship she could have with her, but to her suprise Shai actually said that she missed her.... no one had ever told Ryoku that they missed her, and to hear the usually, hig strung, and angry girl, say that to her, it distracted her greatly. "You did?" Ryoku scratched the back of her head sheepishly. "Well.... strangely.... I... missed... you to." Ryoku almost had to drag the words from her mouth, the effort actually wearing her out a little.
